Giant sulfur bacteria


Upper picture: Two Beggiatoa spp. from Guaymas under UV light. The larger species (ca. 100 µm Ø) is fluorescing blue, the smaller species (35 um Ø) yellow-orange. UV epifluorescence microphotograph.
