Saline Microsafari

A filamentous cyanobacterium (Oscillatoria) and different types of
elongated (pennate) diatoms thriving in a hypersaline mat.
At salinities of 2 - 3 times that of seawater, dense microbial mats cover the sediments. Fish and many grazers don't survive here.
